Doctor Pete “People in Your Neighborhood” storytime

We are still meeting on zoom instead of in person, and so we decided to implement a new once a month event called the People in Your Neighborhood. We have asked interested community members to read a story and answer questions about their job. Afterward, we do a craft for which the library provides supplies. We place all the supplies for the craft in paper bags, and patrons can call ahead for the bag to be placed outside for curbside pickup. Our third guest speaker was Doctor Pete.

Dr. Pete lives in Windsor, CO in our library district but works as an emergency room physician in Nebraska. We read Next Please! by Christopher Inns.

We made stethoscopes like this post. I skipped the beads and used ribbon instead of pipe cleaners. I also used mirror paper for the diaphragm of the stethoscope.

We made doctor bags like this post from Spell Out Loud.
