“Hey-ho, To Mars We’ll Go” Story Explorers preschool book club

Story Explorers looks a little different during Covid-19. We are meeting on zoom instead of in person. The library has curbside pick up, and we are open to the public currently so participants can pick up their copy of the book and supplies for a craft. We place all the supplies for the craft and the title we are reading in paper bags. This week I gave them paper, three clothespin each, one toilet paper roll each, and a white plastic egg each. The patrons had to provide their own scissors and glue/tape.

We read Hey-ho To Mars We’ll Go by Susan Lendroth and illustrated by Bob Kolar.

We created rockets like this post from The Kindergarten Connection.

“All the Water in the World” Story Explorers preschool book club

Story Explorers looks a little different during Covid-19. We are meeting on zoom instead of in person. The library has curbside pick up, and we are open to the public currently so participants can pick up their copy of the book and supplies for a craft. We place all the supplies for the craft and the title we are reading in paper bags. This week I gave them blue crayons in multiple shades, waxed paper, and string. The patrons had to provide their own scissors, hole punch, and iron/hair dryer to melt the crayons.

We read All the Water in the World by George Ella Lyon and illustrated by Katherine Tillotson.

We created water droplet suncatchers like this post from Prek Pages.

“Ocean Meets Sky” Story Explorers preschool book club

Story Explorers looks a little different during Covid-19. We are meeting on zoom instead of in person. The library has curbside pick up, and we are open to the public currently so participants can pick up their copy of the book and supplies for a craft.

We read Ocean Meets Sky by The Fan Brothers.

We created these paper plate boat scenes. I made my boat sail in the sky instead of the water, like it does in the book, but you can choose to sail your boat wherever you please. 🙂
