“Forests” little ones event

For February, we went to the forest. We did this event at the library on a Tuesday morning and a Saturday morning and at an outreach event on a Thursday morning.

We purchased these river stones from a generous grant from the CO State Library. I asked the kids to make a bridge to get across the river.

We made tree bark rubbings.

We wrapped yarn around pine cones like this post from Rainy Day Mum.

We made toothpick porcupines like this post from First Grade Wow.

I love that this girl’s porcupine was Picasso-inspired.

We made edible bear dens like this post from Pre-K Pages.

This boy put an addition on to his bear den.

A talented coworker cut out sponges to make stamps for kids to make animal prints like this post from Green Kid Crafts.

A library employee before my time made this animal print matching game.
