“Guess Who Haiku” preschool storytime

We started with a guessing game.  I cut a hole in a couple of shoeboxes. I put a pinecone in one, playdoh in another, and a blown up balloon in the third. The kids reached their hands in and guessed what the object was simply by feel.

Read Guess Who Haiku by Deanna Caswell.
We talked a little bit about syllables and the 5-7-5 format, but I did not go too into detail on this.

We then made our own guessing books using pictures I had cut out from magazines.
