“Press Here” Story Explorers book club

Movement Game
I used a version of this game from Homegrown Friends. I cut circles out of sticky-backed craft foam in white, black, blue, red, and yellow and placed them on the floor of the library meeting room. I used the following commands:
Hop to a yellow circle.
Twirl to a white circle.
Tiptoe to a red circle.
Crawl to a black circle.
Hop on 1 leg to a blue circle.
Shake to a yellow circle.
Walk backwards to a red circle. (Be careful of your neighbor!)
Gallop to a white circle.
Dance to black circle.
Wiggle to a yellow circle.
Slither to a blue circle.
Stomp to a yellow circle.

Read Press Here.

Mix colors
I gave the kids clear cups of water. We used red, blue, and yellow food coloring to make green, purple, and orange water.

Make your own Press Here book.
Using colored office stickers like these, we made our own versions of Press Here. One little boy made himself the book and put the stickers on his forehead. Depending on which sticker you pressed, he would dance or wiggle or move however he chose!
